Privately-owned Hotels and Vacation Rentals have a tremendous opportunity to help the community by directing the flow of visitor spending.

Our goal for The Blue Door on Church Street is to create a funnel which routes visitor spending into the local community. Many large hotels route visitor spending towards other large corporations, many with off-island ownership interests. Since The Blue Door is located in a part of Maui with an abundance of excellent locally-owned small businesses, we see a unique opportunity to encourage our guests to support all of the amazing locally-owned businesses in Wailuku and elsewhere on Maui.
To achieve this, we have created a platform which makes it convenient for our guests to interact directly with the local businesses we have handpicked from around the island. We are always looking to partner with more local businesses, so if you support our mission and want to work with us, please reach out.
Additionally, we will soon be supporting local non-profits which are effective in raising the quality of life of the Maui community. We are currently developing our list of non-profit partners, which you will soon be able to find on our homepage. Each month we donate excess profits to support these local organizations. We are always looking to form relationships with non-profits which are making a difference, so please start a conversation if you have an organization in mind.
